Plot To Impeach Fubara, Rivers State Governor

Anabs Sara-Igbe, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, has claimed that the recent defection of 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a plot to further the impeachment process of Governor Siminialayi Fubara. Sara-Igbe made this statement during an interview on Channels TV's Politics Today.

On Monday, 27 out of 32 members of the Rivers State Assembly defected from the ruling PDP to the APC. However, Sara-Igbe expressed his belief that these defections are a deliberate move to push for the impeachment of the Governor. He also criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyeson Wike, accusing him of making comments that hinder peace in the state.

In response, George Alabo, a member of the state House of Assembly, stated that the lawmakers' defection has nothing to do with Wike. He explained that the defections were due to divisions within the PDP that the party leadership has failed to address. Alabo emphasized that the lawmakers have the support of their constituents and that their actions are in the best interest of the people.
