Breaking News: Ogun State House of Assembly Impeaches Speaker Olakunle Oluomo for Financial Fraud Allegations

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo, has been impeached with immediate effect. An impeachment letter, signed by 18 members of the house, states that the reasons for the speaker's removal include gross misconduct and financial misappropriation, among others. The letter addressed to the Clerk/HLS, highlights the speaker's office not living up to its dignified position and not adhering to its responsibilities. It accuses the speaker of lack of focus, poor leadership, financial misappropriations, highhandedness, arrogance, and of instigating division among members. In agreement with section 92 (2)(C) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Order 11 of the Standing rule of the House of Assembly, the undersigned members of the 10" Assembly of Ogun State House of Assembly have moved to impeach the speaker with immediate effect.
