NAF Airstrikes "Successfully" Take Out Over 100 Terrorists in Niger and Zamfara - DHQ

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that it has killed over 100 terrorists in Niger and Zamfara States, in airstrikes conducted in the last week. The DHQ said the airstrikes were part of the ongoing operations aimed at neutralizing all criminal elements in the North-West region. This successful operation carried out by the NAF demonstrates the commitment of the government to ensuring the safety of all citizens.

The Defence Headquarters has announced that Nigerian troops have eliminated more than 100 terrorists in air interdictions conducted on the border between Niger and Zamfara states. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, provided an update on military operations across the country during the last week. The operations also resulted in the decimation of many insurgents in other parts of the country. The military conducted a surgical operation targeting the residence of an ISWAP terrorist commander in Niger, which led to several arrests and discoveries. In addition, troops carried out various operations that neutralized 73 terrorists, arrested 182 others, apprehended 14 suspected oil thieves, and rescued 68 hostages in the South-South region. They also recovered a significant amount of weapons, ammunition, and other items, as well as denying oil thieves an estimated N1.212 billion from illegal activities. Furthermore, troops in the North East, North Central, North West, Niger Delta, and South East recorded significant gains in neutralizing terrorists, arresting suspects, and recovering illegal materials. All recovered items, arrested suspects, and rescued hostages have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
