The federal government has announced that it is ready to begin the payment of outstanding stipends to N-Power beneficiaries who are part of the program. Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the N-Power National Programme Manager, made this known during a meeting with some beneficiaries in Abuja.

Dr. Egbuwalo explained that the temporary suspension of the program was done in order to address issues related to the delayed payment of stipends. He stated that funds have been recovered from the existing payment service providers following a thorough restructuring and forensic audit. The program has put plans in place to begin disbursing the outstanding stipends for the past 9 months starting from November 2023. Payments will be made in installments.

Dr. Egbuwalo assured all beneficiaries of transparency and accountability and stated that the N-Power program will continue as the Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP) under the supervision of Dr. Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister. The program will be expanded to target 5 million beneficiaries over a period of 5 years, with 1 million youths being absorbed each year under the graduate and non-graduate streams.

One of the beneficiaries, Sani Garba from Yobe State, expressed his satisfaction with the explanation provided and assured that there was no need for a planned protest due to the lack of information. Garba and the other beneficiaries present at the meeting expressed their gratitude for the assurances given and their optimism for the improved implementation of the program.

The beneficiaries were encouraged to remain patient as they await their payments, and they expressed their joy over the government's commitment to not leave any beneficiary behind in its renewed hope agenda.
