President Bola Tinubu has authorized the appointment of chief executives in various agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. A statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced the appointments. Aminu Maida has been appointed as the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Nkechi Egerton-Idehen as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), and Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). Dr Vincent Olatunji has been assigned as the National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), and Tola Odeyemi as the Postmaster General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST). In addition, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Idris Alubankudi as the Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy. These appointments are effective immediately.
