Supreme Court to Decide Fate of Presidential Election - Verdict Set for Thursday

The Supreme Court has announced that it will deliver judgment on Thursday in the appeals filed by the presidential candidates of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, challenging the outcome of the February 25 election that resulted in the victory of President Bola Tinubu.

Dr Festus Akande, the Director of Information of the Supreme Court, confirmed the judgment date on Wednesday.

On Monday, both the PDP and LP presented their arguments before the apex court, while the appeal of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and its presidential candidate, Chichi Ojei, was withdrawn and subsequently dismissed.

The Presidential Election Petitions Court had previously dismissed the petitions filed by both parties on September 6 due to lack of evidence. However, Obi and Atiku lodged appeals against this decision.
