Tinubu Appoints New Leadership for NIWA and Shippers' Council
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Tinubu has announced the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers to the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC). The new appointees inaugurated by the Governor are Captain Saidu Mohammed and Barrister Hassan Bello, respectively. As the Chief Executive Officers, Captain Saidu Mohammed and Barrister Hassan Bello are expected to use their wealth of knowledge and experience to enhance efficiency in the operations and services of their respective organizations.
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Munirudeen Oyebamiji as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority, and Akutah Ukeyima as Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers' Council. The appointments were made based on the recommendations of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola. The announcement of the appointments was made by President Tinubu's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
Munirudeen Oyebamiji has a degree in Banking and Finance and holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and Business Administration. He is an economist with over 28 years of experience in the industry. He previously worked at the Osun State Investment Company Limited and served as the Osun State Commissioner of Finance for eight years.
Akutah Ukeyima has a degree in Law and holds a Master's degree in Public International Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He most recently served as the Head of the Central Authority Unit, International Cooperation in Criminal Matters, at the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
President Tinubu has urged the new appointees to faithfully implement the policies and programs of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy in order to achieve increased revenues and investments as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda's Blue Economy strategy.
